Can you explain why I have yellow fever?

Does anyone know the reason why we feel cold/ shiver when we have a fever? The body's response should be to cool itself in order to lower the tempature, but yet the opposite happens. Can anyone explain why?

  • Answer:

We fever in order to kill the infection in the body - heat kills the infection. If we cooled down, we wouldn't be able to destroy the infection.
