Was Rolling Stone magazine named after The Rolling Stones? Or the other way around? Or is there no connection?

Answer:
One would think so, but I think the name takes it's origin from Bob Dylan's tune, "Like A Rolling Stone".

No connection. The Rolling Stones had always been huge blues fans, contributing the sound of their music to some major blues artists. For that reason, the Rolling Stones named their song off of the Muddy Waters song Rollin' Stone/ Catfish Blues. The Rolling Stone mag was named after a Bob Dylan song.
