Why are people proud of their promiscuity?

How long have abuse, discrimination, and even death sentences directed at LGBT people been going on? I'd guess about 3000 or 4000 years, ever since the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah for what some scholars say was their homosexual promiscuity.

    I'm sure it goes back that far. We know that a lot of people insist that the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah was about nothing but homosexuality. Thousands have for the simple fact they were gay. which is really sad! Its horrible to kill anyone for being who they are!

Some earlier cultures revered their LGBT people. But yes, the "different" person has been ostracized since humans started gathering together. Hmm, I thought that S&G were destroyed because ALL the citizens were unrepentant and rude, and not just the LGBT ones. But, you know, the Bible has been translated and re-translated and mis-translated so many times, it's not a very strong point in any case.

well they cannot imagine what they are missing . we gay have far more sex and fun than the average hetero. so that is why they hate us they cannot get enough

Not really an answer to your question, but kind of related and, I think, interesting. Listen to this line from Ezekiel 16:49-50: "Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, surfeit of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. They were haughty, and did abominable things before me; therefore I removed them, when I saw it." No mention of man lying with man, huh? Granted, homosexuality could fall under the umbrella of 'abominable things,' but it's a stretch. It could just as easily be referring to eating shellfish (Leviticus 11:12).
