IPod went on the fritz -- it says there aren't any songs, playlists, etc. on it but the memory is still full. can't restore with iTunes as my hard drive recently crashed, losing all of my music files. How can I save my music? Help!

Answer:
The same thing happened earlier today when I changed the battery in my 40 gig 3rd generation Ipod. What you need to do is to reset the ipod. On my 3rd generation Ipod you first ensure it isn't locked by turning on then turning off the hold switch then press the Menu and play buttons at the same time. (the centre 2 buttons) holding them down untill the apple icon appears on the screen. Release the button and Hey Presto! All my music restored in all its glory.(The buttons required may be different with other models of Ipod. Hope this works for you. Good Luck.
