I know this has been asked in the past, but things like this seem to change a lot. Has anyone applied for a US passport recently? If so, how long did it take to get the passport? My son is going to Japan in June and has never had a passport before.

I am hearing from people I know that a low of 4 weeks and high of 12 weeks is still the normal time frames.

The Public Library does not handle express mail. If you wish to use an express mail service, please submit your application at a postal service or clerk of court office.
