Would you rather hire somebody with experience or a college degree?

If you have very good skills and experience on one field of trade, will big company(Very high salary, good benefits) on that field hire you even though you have no college degree?

    Totally agree with Wide awake pheonix, it all depends on the type of job and the requirements of the job. Some fields require you to have the degree (even though you don't use it) and other end up being in low positions with the degree while their colleagues with little or no education in the field are in higher positions due to their overall experience. Now in days it seems to be leaning more along the line of the more experience you have the greater chances you will have in higher up positions (although the paper looks great on the wall behind you)

It depends on the specific job requirements. However, I will agree with you that a lot of experience can help make up for that lack of a college degree. Salary has little, if anything, to do with it. But what is stopping you from now attending school and getting that degree? Then you wouldn't have this "hole" in your resume to worry about! :o)
