Have you ever used a debt consolidation program? If you used a company to do this, what company did you use?

I tried to use them one time.. I was making at the time about $500 a month salary.. By the time they figured their fees in there plus what I would owe the company, I was going to owe them $450 a month just to pay my bills and their fees.. that left me $50 for rent, food, utilities, medical, fuel, etc.. I just filed bankruptcy.. Some credit card companies will lower your interest rate but most don't.. all it does is stop your over the limit fees and late fees..
