You think Dish Network will make a deal with FNG?

Why is the picture on my lcd tv sort of fuzzy and blurry? I do have Dish Network and a dvd/vcr combo unit connected to it, but unless it's hooked up wrong, I wouldn't think that would make a difference in the picture quality.

  • Answer:

If you are watching standard-definition programming on an HDTV, then the picture may appear to be of poor quality. This is because the TV is designed for viewing HD or at least digital content. Your best bet would be to upgrade to a Dish Network HD receiver and connect it to the TV with an HDMI cable. Same goes for your DVD player/VCR. That is only putting out an analog signal, so it will not appear to be of great quality. I newer DVD player would most likely have component video output which would look much better. To get even greater quality, an upconverting DVD player connected with an HDMI cable would look the best. You could also upgrade to a Blu-ray disc player, which is capable of playing HD Blu-ray discs as well as DVD's at higher resolution. A less expensive choice could also be a streaming media box. The more things you connect through, the more your signal is apt to being degraded. Check all of the connections from one device to the other and make sure the connections are clean (no dirt, grime), and make sure they are solid connections (coax is the worst for not being fully seated)
