How do I burn a dvd movie?

My cd drive doesn't write to dvd ? i'va got dvd+r cd(s) , how can i burn a movie to my dvd cd(s) ? do i have to have a dvd writer ? or a program would do it? which ? known i've tried magic dvd copier and divx converter >but neither works 4 me !

    It's easy to get confused as to whether you have a DVD writer drive or not. The first thing I would get you to try is put a DVD movie disc in and see if any movie playing program will play the movie. If not, it's probably a CD drive only. If it plays, you still may not have a drive that can 'write' to DVD (in other words you may have a drive that plays DVDs but only writes to CDs). If you can put in a blank DVD+R and create a disc with some saved files on it, you obviously have a DVD writer. The inability to copy movies could be another issue entirely.
