What are some study techniques i can use in studying for a test?

Study in small segments of time, like ten minutes at once. Your brain remembers the first last parts of things more easily, so if you break your studying down into smaller segments, you will recall more. Teaching the material to someone else is also a great way to learn and remember something. Even if you just pretend you're teaching it to someone else, it can be helpful. Reading something and then writing it over and over always helped me remember things. It's not a study technique, but a positive attitude is extremely helpful. Develop a confident attitude about the material and go into it KNOWING you will do well, and you will.

write the questions down on the left side of a paper and the answers on the right side of the same sheet of paper. Cover the right side with another sheet of paper and ask yourself those questions on the left. See if you can answer them on your own. Another way is to do it that might be more fun is to do it like the game show "jeopardy" and have someone read the answer to you. Then you come up with the question. If all else fails..... turn off the TV and put away the ipod and quit texting your friends about the concert. They must be distracting you.

My son swore by reading the important parts out loud. He said it made a stronger mental impression that way.
