How To Bypass School Firewall?

How can I bypass the St. Bernard firewall at my school so that i can play games and get to myspace?

  • Answer:

ummmm, school is for learning. there is a reason they have firewalls. the best way to get around the firewall is to wait till you get home and use YOUR computer. use the school computer for it's intended purpose, research and study.

The firewall at your school was put in place to filter the material (usually offensive) viewed by the user. If you need legitimate access to a website that is being blocked you should contact your school administrator and ask permission, or you can use a public library (usually less strict firewalls) or your own or a friends personal internet connection at home.

I know how stupid school firewalls are so here: http://www.zenshine.net just type in the url of the site u want to get to into the address box on that site.

Come on now folks. The only place you are capable of using the internet is in Computer Applications class, which most people already know backwards and forwards. You are alowed to get on the internet just not any fun sites. It's agrivating whenever it takes kids thirty minutes to figure out how to save a word document. Now help some bored school kids out.

open your browser window, type: http://www.babelfish.altavista.com while at this site, choose to translate the webpage you wish to visit into a different language, as the firewall denies access to certain sites based on content and explicit language. after you have entered in the website you wish to visit and selected the language in which to translate the page and the site has loaded, bablefish will have a frame from their website located at the top of the page. since you have gainded access to this page you may then reverse the translation process by converting the page back into your language of choice. ive used this method at libraries for yahoo mail, myspace, and other content in which there is no logical reason for blocking. im assuming schools however, have taken it upon themselves to seek out and destroy new methods of gaining access, so if bablefish is blocked, ask for permission to unblock this site for some kind of homework related assignment.

You're not going to find many people on Answerbag who will willingly offer advice that potentially breaks the law or circumvents the security measures of public property. No matter how 'stupid' school firewalls may be. And I agree - they are more trouble than they're worth. But that's another topic for another time.
