Hitting a deer on the interstate can be deadly to drivers. a chain link fence, to prevent the deer from crossing the road........what would be the cost to install fencing throughout the entire interstate system in America? someone do the math.

I live in the woods, I see deer jump over fences all the time. I'm not sure your plan will work.

I'm not sure what the cost would be. I suspect the price would be astronomical. It would have to be at least 7 to 8 feet high. I have a chain link fence around my yard that is 4 feet high. And have had deer jump over it and get into my yard. Good idea though. But I think that the border fence would take priority with many.

I live in an area where many deer are hit by cars and motorcycles and every year people are killed. I believe that they should just have open season on deer along highways all year round. When it's wet outside (rainy weather), you can expect lots of deer along highways, also right after the sun goes down. Instead, the game commission says that there is a set distance from highways that you can hunt, which i can't quite remember.

How about just repairing the breached parts. A fence only works when it has no missing sections. Tree falls are normal, but I also see engineering flaws on creek beds where deer paths go right under the fence. Rt 279 Pittsburgh near Gas Road underpass.

I would be all for it, or just kill all of the deer, they are worthless anyways. I had this happen to me actually on I-71 in Ohio driving to Columbus. Deer came right across the median and slammed right into my car. There was no avoiding it. Deer have hit me twice, and both were not my fault. I hate deer, I am glad for the hunters that kill them.
