Can I use any type of TV tuner to record Direct TV programs? (I am using the Direct TV service,but need to capture the subtitles on my computer.) How can I do it?

Answer:
Yes you could use a tuner tuned to channel 3 RF ouput of the Direct TV receiver, or if your tuner card has composite and/or S-video inputs you could use either of those inputs instead. Of the 3, an S-Video input would be best, followed by composite video, followed by RF.

The best way is to use a TV tuner card. it enables you record the digital Live TV programs. Mine is TBS 6981 dual TV card. I can watch one direct TV while record another one,! wow, I have been using more than one year, it still works fine.
