How do I make a sculpture with foam core?

How can I make a display to show off my coin collection? I want to make a frame and show both sides of the coins but do not know if I should use some sort of glue or foam core or what...

  This is a "in theory" brainstorming answer rather than an "I've built this" answer. With that .. maybe I should just say .. here are some random thoughts that might give you some ways to go .. 1) Do you already use any of those hard plastic clear enclosures (that go around individual coins)? 2) You know the "tracks" .. the dug out tracks on wood shelves .. that are used for decorator plate edges to "stand in" as displayed ... or for saucers to "stand in" then cup is shown in front of it? 3) Now consider .. you want to be able to see both sides of your coins, right? But if you don't mind loosing a "tad" of the bottom, they could (within their plastic cases) potentially "Line up" along "tracks" you hollow out on wood shelves. Make these small shelves in depth. Could play with height depending on number of coins of same size you've got. Make a small rectangular display .. maybe 18 inches wide .. maybe 24 inches high .. no backing ... Now separately build an open FRAME (larger than your shelving display). Attach your open shelves to your frame by hanging it from the middle top and securing at middle bottom .. but with SWIVEL action. Now you'll be able to rotate your shelving unit as you like (inside that standing open frame .. so you can look at either side of the coins you have lined up on the tracks along each of the shelves in it. Would have been easier to sketch this out as a brainstorming idea on the back of a napkin! LOL Well .. in the "for what it's worth department" .. there you go. :)
