I'm hoping someone can help. i need a light for my toddler boys room. i cant put a dresser in there cause i dont want him to pull on it. he's very strong. the other problem is he's interested in outlets. dont want him touching cord. please help with ideas

Go with a touch light. You can mount them, or sit it on top of a dresser.

This is a ''4 inch blank cover'' available in the electrical dept. of most hardware stores. Turn the dresser around and using two screws fasten it to the dresser leaving half of the plate sticking above the top of the dresser. Now turn the dresser around and slide it to the wall. Using two more screws fasten it to the wall. Be sure to 'hit a stud' owith one of the wall screws. Aside from the touch lights (which, indeed, aren't very bright) there are battery-powered lights with actual light bulbs that adhere to the wall. I have one in my wardrobe, so I can see my clothes without turning on the overhead light. And of course... I can't remember for the life of me where I got the thing. If I remember, I'll post it as a comment.

When my son was little, they made covers for plugs. Not the plug things you stick into the empty outlets, but there are covers that snap shut over the plugs once they're plugged in. There were also covers for the extra cord. You would wind up the excess cord and snap it shut over it. (I used those as much to keep my cats from chewing on them, as to keep my son from them.)

I used to live in a house that had a light on an arm attached right next to the bed so I could read in bed. My Dad is a contractor and you can actually put recessed lights in the ceiling, this would be a perminant fixture and may be on the pricey side, but you didn't mention what your limits were, so threw it in. You can get them at depots stores and if you know anyone handy with electric they could do it. Other than that I can't really think of anything. Hope that helped!!:)
