Need help with wiring speakers to amp?

I have a question about installing a subwoofer/amp. If I buy an amp wiring kit, do I just need to wire the amp, sub, head unit, and battery, or do I also have to do something with the speakers? Will I need speaker wire? Thanks for any help!

  • Answer:

you can go to walmart and get a wire harness for your head unit and just match up the color of the wires. get a good amp kit to hook up your amp. you will run the power wire from the batter back to where you will mount the amp. run the rca's and remote wire from your head unit to your amp. find a nice place to make a ground and ground your amp to it. get some speaker wire for your amp to your sub box input. just make sure that your amp rms is close to your subs rms. too much power and you will blow your subs. keep within 50-75 watt rms. make sure that you put the correct ohm load to your amp. if your amp will not handle the ohm load of your speakers your amp will go into protection when turned up. anymore questions hit me up and i will answer for you.
