I understand how to use a capture card to record xbox 360 gameplay even though my television does not have a video output port on it. So is there any way to record live tv with a capture card to my computer without my television having a video out port?

Answer:
Do you have an old VCR laying around unused? You could use the video output from that, at least until all of the channels go digital. If not, you'd have to get a capture card that has a tuner built-in. These days, they aren't very expensive. You can get one for less than $100. Make sure it can handle ATSC and QAM if you are living in the U.S.
