How would you feel if your new girl/boy friend told you they were going on a road trip with their ex and they had indicated they were still attracted to them?

Don't date them. Been there in a similar situation. Only my boyfriend and friend just flirted which always got to me.. but don't build yourself up to something that could hurt you. Just like he will probably do.. No way to say this nicely.. just dump them or say you need a break. Best of Luck.

How about When that girl/boy friend close's that door, they don't plan on ever looking back?

i would shoot him in the face (oh you said NEW boyfriend...in that case I dont think i would date them anymore...it wouldn't even be up for discussion, i'd just leave it at that)

My boyfriend doesn't have an ex, but if I were in that situation, I would probably be so crushed and hurt. I might also feel like the person he calls an "ex" isn't even an "ex" to begin with and wonder if I'm helping him cheat without realizing that I am.

I would wish them a fun road trip. I'd also jokingly remind her that if she fools around with the guy, I get a "get out of cheating once free" card, of which I'd be half serious. I'd feel good that the girl could maintain friendships with ex-boyfriends; that means she isn't overdramatic, her relationships end on good terms, and it means that, when our relationship ends, it will be stress free and positive too. She's also likely to be a "friend with benefits" after that, and it's always nice to add another one of those to the old black book. A good stable of such friends is worth the best relationships. But then, I'm not a jealous person, and I'm secure enough about myself and my sexual performance that any girl I'm dating won't feel the need to stray. If they do, I'm emotionally detached enough to happily transition from girlfriend to friend.

Ask them why the hell they were going out with me in the first place then and dump them.
