HOW DO I TURN MY IDEA INTO SOMETHING REAL?

I have a 200 chevy Impala ls that is blowing cold air but only on #5 on the knob when I turn it to a lower number the air will not blow out. called may places they all say something different. Climate control module or a blower fan? Do you have an idea?

  • Answer:

If the fan only works on the HI setting it is probably the blower motor resistor. Look under the hood or under the passenger side dash and find the round blower motor. There will be two large wires coming out of the motor that plug into the resistor module. It is normally held in place with a few screws. Most auto parts stores have them. Ther normally cost between 20 and 50 dollars. Hope this helps.

I HAD THE SAME TROUBLE AND IT WAS THE BLOWER RESISTOR UNIT THAT WAS BURNED OUT.

I haved a 2005 Jeep Liberty that is doing the exact same thing. It went our progressively - first #1 setting stopped, then #2 etc and now only blows on highest setting. I can tell you, in my case, it was not the fuse. If you ever get a resolution to this, please come back here and let me know!
