How to automatically delete certain rows in Excel?

In excel I want to delete rows from 1 to 100 containing empty cells. i.e. say alternate rows or selective rows containing no data. How to do it by shortcut. Now Iam deleting by selecting each row and doing which is time consuming. Kindly help

  • Answer:

Sort your spreadsheet by any column that contains data which is non-existent in the rows you want to delete. Your empty rows will bunch-up together; select them with "shift" and push delete. After that, sort again by whatever column you had it sorted by originally.

Other answers

If it is alternate rows you need to hold down ctrl and select every other row - then delete. But do it in chunks cause if you go for too big a selection it will just stop. Similarly if there are consecutive rows you can hold down shift and highlight them for deletion.

Piggle

you can left click on the first colume (1) hold and drag down to 100 then right click on the highlighted area and delete columes!
