A frozen dessert calls for Philadelphia cream cheese spread. I picked up Whipped Philadelphia cream cheese spread by mistake. Can this be used in the recipe?

Answer:
Does your recipe call for cooking the cream cheese? If so then you might have a very small problem -- the volume of whipped cream cheese is not the same as normal cream cheese because it has air whipped in to it. If one cooks it the cheese will melt a bit and the volume will decrease a bit. Otherwise, you should be fine. If you are going to cook the recipe, then consider adding about 10% more to compensate for the air.
