How to download The Sims 2 -Double Deluxe?

I have The sims 2 double deluxe, and I am trying to download custom content onto it with WinRAR software. I have watch videos off youtube on how to do it and do exactly as told to and I never EVER get the custom content in my game. Someone PLEASE help...?

    help us by telling us what Youtube is telling you to do. What is the problem you are having. Where are you putting the custom content... What you should be doing is go into My Documents Then to EA Games Then to Sims2 Make a new folder in the {folder (Sims2)} label the folder Downloads Then put all downloads(custom content) into that folder(unless it specifies not to) Is that what you are doing? I ran into this problem as well, and modthesims2.com doesn't mention it...but if you have double deluxe, then all the steps you're told to take to put it in the sims 2 folder actually should go into the sims 2 double deluxe folder instead.

I know what you mean. It is very difficult to find the actual file in the Sims 2 Double Deluxe folder. Click Start, enter "Downloads" in the Search bar, click on the downloads folder in Documents, and you have it. If you have never installed custom content before, go to http://www.thesimsresource.com and go to sims 2 downloads. There is a little tutorial on how to download files inside of a big green box, and it will show you how. The downloads file will be created automatically, and you will be able to download custom content easily and flowingly from that point on. It is funny, actually, this confuses a lot of people due to the fact the Downloads file is invisible. http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/browse/category/sims2

you have to extract your custom content to documents/ea games/sims 2/downloads than go to your game and it should be there....

Ohhh I have the same problem with Double Deluxe... I used to have it work occasionally but I had to recently reinstall the game and since then NONE of my custom content (except for the sims2pack files from thesims2.com) has installed.

Sorry to answer and not be able to help, but I have this same problem too. Ive watched everything for fracking idiots but nothing works. Even when you say you have Double Deluxe they still say the Sims 2! Im like dude i said SIMS 2 DOUBLE DELUXE! Hope we both get help(:
