I am sensitive to snoring (& its a turn off). If I have a partner that snores, I must sleep on the couch/away. If she asks why didnt I go to bed? How should I answer? (or how would you answer)

What do you think about seeing a sleep specialist and seeing if we can do something about it, so you don't end up with heart disease?" Snoring and apnea are caused by obstructions in your airway while sleeping. Usually, as your throat relaxes during sleep, the soft tissues collapse into it and obstruct your airway. The longer you go without breathing, the harder your heart pumps trying to circulate the oxygen that remains in your system to keep you brain alive. Your blood pressure skyrockets, creating small splits in your arteries. Blood will not clot in moving blood, so your body patches the holes with cholesterol, causing plaques. Pretty soon, the artery narrows to the point where blood is moving slowly enough to clot and you have a heart attack. My uncle died at 53 of a sleep apnea induced heart attack. My husband was diagnosed with heart disease at 53 as well. He is small, thin and has always been very fit. He has no family history. But a few weeks after his diagnosis, he was also diagnosed with apnea. Snoring and apnea are no joke. Help her get treatment.

honestly.. i would've said something like "idk, i was on the couch and just kinda fell asleep" or "the mattress really hurts my back...it felt good on the couch"

I would say that she snores and that you are a light sleeper or that she is a bad snorer, whichever it is, just be honest

I don't like it either. I would ell her. Maybe she can get help for it. If she wants to. I know I tell mine all the time. It is worse if he's on his back.

Wear earplugs. If she askes tell her you need complete silence to sleep. She doesn't have to know it was because of her. Also, sleeping on her side will reduce snoring.
