I'm running an Acer Aspire 5520. When I try to play audio through a pair of headphones, the built-in speakers continue to emit sound. How can I convince the computer to only play audio through the headphones?

Answer:
Right click on your volume icon the the lower right-hand corner of the screen. Click playback devices Click on the speakers, and then the disable button. This should prevent noise from your speakers but still allow sound coming from the headphones that are plugged in. :D
