What does a computer engineer do?

What kind of jobs in the computer industry is an Electrical Engineer qualified for that a Computer Engineer isn't, and vice versa?

  • Answer:

Any electrical engineer is qualified to do all works in a Software Firm. He may be good in Networking and Hardware Designs. Some Software Firms involve in Chip Designing or Testing For Chip Designing. An Electrical Engineer can use his/her expertise in these fields. An Fresh Computer Engineer does not have any thing special than an Electrical Engineer. But with Experience he/she will learn more and the confidence in learning Software skills is the one thing an Computer Engineer will have than rest of others who may have a slight fear of new things.

Hi there, I work for an IT/telecoms company as infrastucture planner and installer in datacentres. I'm trained in electrical engineering and no very little about IP etc. Its a great role that gets me out and about and is also in great demand it seems.
