What is the best head rope?

When I'm outside the wake picking up speed as i head towards the wake I lose rope tension then i have to compensate by facing my board verticaly towards the boat then go fast and lose my cohesion. What am I doing wrong?

  • Answer:

You are not using a progressive edge. When you start your turn, put a good amount of force on your edge that is away from the boat. As you ride into the wake, keep that pressure on your edge. Think about trying to ride perpendicular to the path the boat is taking. The harder the angle you take toward the wake, the less speed you will have in the direction of the boat, and the more speed you will have moving toward the wake. Definitely keep that edge in so that you don't inadvertently do a slide, although that is a good trick if you are doing it on purpose.
