How do Apple Macs make better use of video ram? I heard that the other day, and was curious as to why? I saw this video, and this guy was talking about Apple versus PC. Anyway, suddenly he says that "Macs do make better use of video ram?"

Sounds like the ramblings of a delusional user. Quartz is cool but it isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread. "Macs do make better use of video ram?" is such a vague statement as to be completely useless. There are so many applications to consider in regards to VRAM that you can make just about any statement you want and probably find 1 obscure stat to support it somewhere.

Sounds like hype, OS X is actually (the core and heart and soul of the OS) is FreeBSD (Linux/Unix Varient) and both Linux and Windows map the the RAM of the video card if you have PCI-e into memory first. If the question was in video creation that still wouldn't hold water...as Apples use the Intel Chip and it is faster in video content creation then AMD but a Win/*nix based machine that had an Intel CPU would do or be equal if the clock rate and amount of cores are the same.
