I accidentally formatted my memory card on my digital camera. Is there any way I can get those pictures back if for example I take it to a professional photo shop?

I have had success with this... Download the program http://www.asoftech.com/apr/ You must not take anymore pictures on your card. You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the asoftech program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press “Start” and wait for it to do it’s magic. You need to use a card reader either one already in your computer (some have one, some don't). Or buy an external USB card reader. They are around 10.00 and can be found at walmart, bestbuy, frys, probably target.

I learned this lesson the hard way. Whatever you do, DON'T CONTINUE TO TAKE PHOTOS USING THE SAME MEMORY CARD! When fiddling with my digicam during my family's 1st cruise vacation, I inadvertently formatted the memory card. If I had known then what I know now, I would have stopped using the card. But did I do that? NO! I freaked out and started taking more photos, overwrting pics I would have probably been able to recover. I am sick about it, but it will never happen to me again. I hard lesson, but a well-learned one. One thing I can't understand though: Before formatting my memory card, I had taken 130 pics and then I took about 26 after formatting the card. It seems like I should have been able to recover at least SOME of the old pics, but I was not. Losing those pictures caused me to lose a lot of sleep. I tried at least 8 file recovery programs, with no luck. I believe any of them would have worked had I not taken more photos with the same card. Ugh!
