Well, there really isn't a question here unless you're asking what you should do. When you say "personal belongings" do you mean like your coffee cup? Your sweater? Where does she move them to? The lost and found or the closet? Do you have a locker? If it's really too much for you, speak with your supervisor. If that doesn't work, speak with HER supervisor.

Perhaps you should speak to her in person instead of leaving notes. If she continues to move your things after speaking to her, I would either put your personal belongings away after your shift is over, or speak to a supervisor for mediation.

Are you talking a shared desk area? A locker room? The rule at my place of work was: when you left a SHARED space, you took everything that belonged to you and put it away (like a locker/your car). When you are not there, that space isn't yours. Actually, it's not yours anyway, it's the employers. Come to think of it, personal things were frowned upon at many places where I worked. (not even pictures were allowed) Hmm...guess things are changing in some work places.

In a situation where you have to share a space, the best thing to do, is to put your personal belongings in something you can lock up. Like a locker, etc. Also, you could try putting your personal belongings in a plastic strage container, with your name on it. Other than that, I usually take my personal things with me so that someone doesn't mess with them.

If it is a shared desk, she might be feeling it is her desk and you are the one messing it up. You just can't expect to personalize it with your belongings if you both have to use the area. But if she has her own desk, then I would start moving things around on her to see how she likes it. She might be obsessive compulsive. If she does it to other people's desks as well, you need to confront her. Working with other women can be so difficult!

Ive worked in a Truama ICU before. from what i remember day and night shift workers dont work the same hours. Once they come in you leave. I would figure your stuff would go with you? No??? If you leave it there, you have no say over the issue.

I would have a little talk with her and ask her to help you understand why she feels the need to continually move your things? Are you sure it's this person that is moving your stuff? Dont they give you rn's a locker or something? If you have a talk with this retentive and she still feels the need to move your stuff just keep it in a locker or something. Are your things in the way of what she has to do during her day shift? I could see her point if that was the case. But if it's not in anyone;s way I would nt leave a note anymore. I'd go straight to her and ask her to please not move anything of yours.

I feel you on this. I am a LPN and when the new shift would come on at a facility I worked for before I went to home health.. there was this older RN who would come in and basically do away with our shift's stuff instead of just waiting til count and letting us get our stuff and then putting her stuff where it would be comfy for her. I had a stressful time one shift and when she moved my bag I just picked up the strap and put it back without saying a word. I did not really leave room for questioning and she never did it to me again. DO not be rude and if you are uncomfortable with directness or do not know her response.. write her a small note and tape it to the desk so that she may read it and be told.
