How to make a thermometer?

How can I make sure a whole chicken is completely cooked on the inside without a thermometer? Both of ours are broken, so I need to make sure it's done.

    Poke it and the juices should run clear. If it has a leg attached, give it a wiggle and it will move easily, stiff if it's undercooked. But without a thermometer you will likely over cook the breast meat.
