After the war there were so many displaced Jewish people all over Europe.They wanted their own land.There was much opposition at first to them moving to Palestine, as Palestine was controlled by the British.As might most probably know,Jewish freedom fighters took up the cause for a state of Israel,and in the end Britain gave way and the Jewish people from Europe started to emigrate to their ancestral home Israel. However, the Palestinian Arabs were not too happy with the outcome because they had lost their homeland,and many years later the problem has not yet been solved. During the six day war,1967, I was in South Arabia serving in the army,and many Jewish owned shops were set on fire and looted by the Arabs.They also started to kill their Jewish neighbours,and we as a peace keeping force had to prevent this senseless killing.Lets hope a peaceful solution can be negociated so that an everlasting peace for all can be achieved.
