Answer:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snopes Snopes is run by Barbara and David Mikkelson, a California couple who met on the alt.folklore.urban newsgroup Snopes receives more complaints that it is too liberal than that it is too conservative, but insists that it applies the same debunking standards to all political stories. FactCheck reviewed a sample of Snopes' responses to political rumors regarding George W. Bush, Sarah Palin and Barack Obama, and found them to be free from bias in all cases. FactCheck noted that Barbara Mikkelson was a Canadian citizen and David Mikkelson was an independent who was once a registered Republican. "You’d be hard-pressed to find two more apolitical people," David Mikkelson told them.[20

I would like know who actually owns and runs snopes. You know it is not done for free. Some group must have control of it. When I ask, nobody seems to have an answer. The principle is great but you need to know who controls the web site to have confidence in their answers. Since I don't have an answer, at the present, I don't have much confidence in what they say. I would like to hear from them about this.

1) "Commercial? Supported by advertisements and contributions from readers Type of site Reference pages Registration Owner Barbara and David P. Mikkelson Created by Barbara and David P. Mikkelson" Source and further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snopes 2) "Then it has been learned the Mikkelson's are jewish - very Democratic (party) and extremely liberal. As we all now know from this presidential election, liberals have a purpose agenda to discredit anything that appears to be conservative. There has been much criticism lately over the internet with people pointing out the Mikkelson's liberalism revealing itself in their website findings." Source and further information: http://www.stormfront.org/forum/showthread.php?t=554918 ...........But you could possibly not find this last reference very reliable: "The Stormfront White Nationalist Community is a white supremacist,[a] neo-Nazi[b] Internet forum that has been described as the Internet's first major hate site,[c] and the first and most popular racist website." Source and further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stormfront_(website%29 The answer of Snopes: "For the record: We're not Jewish (not that it should matter to anyone save anti-semites), we don't live in the San Fernando Valley (and never have), and neither one of us is a Democrat ("liberal" or otherwise). Barbara's a Canadian citizen who couldn't possibly have an affiliation with a U.S. political party, and I'm officially registered as an independent. Neither of us has ever made a donation to a political party or candidate, worked on behalf of a political campaign (either on a paid or volunteer basis), or publicly endorsed or supported any party, candidate, or political cause (not even to the extent of displaying a bumper sticker, putting up a yard sign, or wearing a campaign button). Someone didn't know how to do basic investigative research, and it wasn't us." Source and further information: http://message.snopes.com/showthread.php?p=791936

When they take any kind of editorial stand on events current or past it has a liberal slant. http://www.notoriouslyconservative.com/2009/02/snopes-liberal-political-agenda.html

Perhaps they are apolitical and (like Answerbag) just make money from adverts.

Here is my humble opinion. It is run by two people, The Mikkelsons. We are all human and all flawed. I wouldn't necessarily base all my final decisions based on their "opinions"! Good Luck, and God Bless!!!

I'll submit this Question to Dr. A. True Ott, of THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY....This how we get the Truth .......Dr. A. True Ott is an extreme researcher who never fails to pull the ugly filth out of the bottom of the sewer and expose it to the penetrating rays of the sunlight for all to see. And Man - Oh - Man, do the scum hate it.

I tried for years to get them to respond on the Planned Parenthood/Susan G. Komen link and at first they denied it, then they no longer responded when I provided them with proof. Also, they have been part of the "Bush lied, people died" campaign. They denied the fact that there was any way Iraq could create a nuclear bomb. Yet under the cover of a covert operation, in July 2008, we brought out tons of yellowcake uranium and routed it through Canada. You can go to MSNBC and search yellowcake uranium and Iraq and find the story that MSNBC tried to bury. Yet even today, Snopes continues to deny it was part of what could make a bomb. I ought to know since I was part of the effort to locate and track it. They are leftist liars pure and simple and cover for for left leaning politicians and programs. They are not to be trusted.

I read the ObamaCare Bill and as part of the bill and personally saw the words regarding Implantable Microchips to be placed inside the Human Body as part of the LAW. SNOPES.COM HAS LIED ABOUT THIS stating it is False. George Soros has numerous corporations that are stacked up with one owning the other. The corporations are buying up Firearms and Ammo manufacturers in an attempt to gain control over that industry in the future when Gun Control is enforced. SNOPES.COM HAS LIED ABOUT THIS stating it is False. That's two for two that I know of. SNOPES.COM is the Information Technology equivalent of Sodium Fluoride in the domestic water supply focused primarily on the abjectly stupid population of Human-Sheep hybrids.
