    1. I understand that companies want to save money and that non-US workers are far less expensive than US workers. Doesn't mean I agree with the practice. I have seen customer service suffer due to this. 2. Yes. The company I worked for outsourced all of the IT dept on June 1st of this year. The outsourcing company hired us, but it looks as if they are now desperate to lay us off. 3. Yes.

1) We all comparitive shop, and companies also like to get good deals, even if it is on labor. 2) No, and doubtful it ever would be. Seems logistically impossible. 3) I may, but if the tax break doesn't offer a better deal than the outsourcing it wouldn't happen, much, anyway. A 5% tax break in exchange for a 15% higher cost in labor? This goes back to question 1 and the comparitive shopping thing.

That is a really complex question. Consumers are always looking for lower cost and share holders are always looking for greater profits so outsourcing helps to achieve both of those objectives. I haven't been effected by international outsourcing, but I have lost a position because the company felt a Voice response system and website would be more efficent than having local representive. We live in a ever rappedly changing world. As individuals we will need to be perpared for lay offs and be adaptable. I don't like it but it is a reality.
