Connect set top box to a pc?

Sir, when i connect to other machine on network it asks for username and password in xp whereas there is not any password set on that pc. I want to remove this box. how can i do it.

  Set up an account on that computer you are trying to connect to, for example username: test / pw: test Then use that for login information when you try to access shares on that computer. To do this right click "my computer" and choose "manage" then go to device manager and uninstall all network interface devices. Then go to local users and groups and add your user. If done correctly everything should work fine!
