How can I improve my school work?

How do computers affect kids with their school work. But also at the same time how do they improve the classroom?

  • Answer:

I think it gets kids familiar with the PC at a younger age, then your 8 year old always wants to check e-mail and play online games and such.... Educationwise, it's great to have them PC literate. They can search for info they need on wikipedia, and other sites. Get's them use to being able to independently get the info they need for projects, and reports. When they ask for help from a parent, there will be answers instead of a parent that is stumped and not knowing how to help.

Computers are both an aid and a disaster for kids homewrok assignments. The positive side of the use of a computer is it places the worlds knowledge base at their finger tips, a great resource to gain better insight to the subject they are studying. The negative side is many students get side tracked and never get to the resources they need to complete homework. That being said, classroom discussion and give and take situations should be more because not everyone will read the same article, and positions will need to be taken. It is an effective learning tool, but in many area today, contrary to popular thought, access to computers are not always available especially in lower income areas, or homes with numerous children. We still need to teach the art of being 'academic' without the use of a computer
