Who says that the day before Thanksgiving is the biggest drinking day or the year? Whats so special about it? Half day Wednesday, lol?

Wait, it's the biggest drinking day of the year? SWEET, guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow.

My friend Brian calls it "Drunksgiving". Around here, it certainly is one of the biggest drinking days of the year, especially among college kids. I couldn't tell you why, I certainly would not want to be cooped up with my family all day with a hangover.

I don't know who said it but I love them anyway.

Yeah that is weird. Across the pond in the UK, Christmas Eve tends to be the biggest drinking day and I never understood that; why would you want to ruin the best day of the year by being all hungover and lethargic??

Well to answer the first part, I said it. The second part is because nearly everyone has off the next day, and that friday (unless in retail) and family generally travels in for Thanksgiving. It is rumored that many people need to get a little wasted before family comes in. Also, unlike christmas eve or christmas, not many bars are open, so even though family is coming in, there is no where to drink. Also for st. patty's day, not many people can get off that day. and New years is more of a party time, and not a bar type of night, which leaves the day before thanksgiving as the biggest drinking day of the year. And yes my dear Sara, half day wednesday has something to do with it as well, also with many happy hours having their best deals during the week and not the weekends helps as well. GET DRUNK!!!!!

A four day weekend for most people, I'd drink to that. Happy Thanksgiving Cali Girl!

I don't. I can see how many people would choose that day to drink because of the following days off, but I would rather rest. I know I have drank the day before on Thanksgiving, but I think I was in my teens. The absolute last thing I want is to be dragging ass and hung over, especially if I am expected to help cook, mingle, and clean.
