I need some winter boots.

I am going to NYC(Times Square) for New Years, just wondering what will i need to wear? Sweatshirt or winter jacket? gloves? winter hat? Do i need boots or will i be OK with shoes? Any other unrelated advice is appreciated too :)

  You're going to be in a very large, very crowded, open space. THE PERFECVT setting for pick-pockets! Make the investment in a money belt. They aren't very expensive, but they give an extra feeling of knowing exactly where ALL your personal valuables are at all times. They are very inconspicuous. You'll be less of a target for pick-pockets. As far as what kind of outerwear is concerned, the cloer New Year's Eve gets, the better your decision will be. An option y9ou might have: Wear layerrs of clothes. Go on-line to locate a bank of those rental lockers in the vicinity of Times Square. If the lockers are close enough to where you'll be, put your unneeded clothing in one of those lockers. It's a very inexpensive way to know where your clothes are AND you won't have to be burdened carrying them. By the way: You DON'T want to drive into the city.
