What program can I download to make GIFS/Animations from videos?

I have a laptop computer running WIndows Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Gateway t-6836. Watching Videos online is a nightmare. Is there a program I can download that can make the videos online not sieze up and pause every 2 minutes?

    I don't know if there are programs you can download, but Vista is a resource hog. Check to see that your computer has enough RAM or memory to run Vista. You could also switch back to XP as long as your computer isn't under warranty (switching OS's voids most warranties).

there are programs that allow you to download and run the clip from your hard drive. If you use Internet Explorer or Firefox you could use RealPlayer, which will incorporate a plugin to the browser so that you can hover the mouse over the video on Youtubes ( for instance) and then click on the little tab that appears to download. if you have the CometBird browser, which is like Firefox ( same engine) but FASTER, you can simply left-click on the video clip you are watching and then go to Tools - Download Media Files and then highlight the listed current one to save it to wherever you want on your drive.
