My samsung alias cell phone from Verizon Wireless turns on but it won't charge when I plug it in. How can I fix that myself?

Answer:
You first want to determine whether the problem is the charger, the battery or the phone. If I were to guess, I would say it is probably the charger. The best way to troubleshoot this is to try another charger. If you don't have one, then take the phone to a Verizon store and have them try another charger. If another charger doesn't work, then most likely the contacts on the phone are broken and it cannot recognize the charger and you would need the phone repaired. If the phone is less than 12 months old, it is still under warranty (as long as it doesn't have any liquid damage to it) and Verizon can replace or repair it for you. If over 12 months old, then you would need to pay for the repair. There isn't anything that you can do yourself, as cell phones should really be professionally repaired. I hope this helps. Thanks.
