What are the 3 basic functions of social work?

Is it okay to work hard and do overtime when required but not attend social functions to please your boss or work collaegues?

  • Answer:

It's a personal call. Like many things {to me anyway} it is a question of degrees, finding the balance - I really can't see how others can decide for you. The old; "I need the money to pay the bills" and "what about my social / family life" conflict plays in the mind of many people. I understand this is all very trite but I'm going to add to it - moderation in all things. The trick is to find where you define the middle ground. May not be any comfort but you do have a lot of company in this area.

of course it's okay. Keep your personal and work life seperate. You have to work to pay your bills and some people work hard because they have good work ethic. To work hard and pay bills then go home and be away from work is not only okay...it's the best way to live.
