How do i set-up a 12" sub (MA 1000 watts) and amp (1000 watts off brand though) in a 98 S-10 pickup

you need access to the red and white (RCA) leads on the back of the head unit, link that to the amp with RCA lead. Best if you attach the + on the amp straight to the battery, put a big fuse (I have a 50A fuse) in the wire though near the battery. Link a thin wire from the remote aerial socket on the amp to the remote aerial wire on the back of the head unit and run a SHORT wire, as short as possible from the - on the amp to a non-moving METAL part of the vehicle. Attach the sub to the amp + to + and - to -. adjust as necessary to the volume of the door speakers and hey presto. If the amp has inbuilt freq then flick through them to find your required sound, if there are no crossovers present then I advise you buy some to attain the full potential of the set-up.
