Is commercial blogging worth doing for an aspiring writer?

My mother keeps writing stuff in her diary. I got to know that she harbored a secret dream of becoming a writer. I told her that she should start blogging, but she says the computer isn’t for her. Is there a way to convince?

    Many writers do their writing on good, old-fashioned typewriters. Not everyone is computer-literate. That should not stop her. Additionally, there are a few writers who write in long hand and don't bother with machines. There are dictaphones..she can just dictate her thoughts and have someone else transcribe them if she doesn't know how to type. If the creative juices that are in her are strong enough, she will find a way. Otherwise, it may simply be one dream/fantasy that she doesn't really care enough about to tackle. Happy Tuesday! :)

You could try easing her into it. Help her write a few paragraphs in Word or even on your social networking account, then ask for feedback. Show her the feedback so she is inspired to share more. I would keep in mind that it seems her wish is to not use computers. Computers can turn organic, natural humans into cold, repetitious lifeless robots. You may want to respect her wishes and not get her hooked. One solution to cover both bases would be to get her to write how she naturally does, then you can scan or type out her writing on the computer. If you're that nice a child :) Good luck.
