Some Christians believe that God will forgive all and any of their sins even when they break the law. How can that kind of attitude be a good example of a Christian?

Answer:
God will forgive. That doesn't mean that the judge will. A Christian will be punished by man's law for breaking those laws. Some people seem to think that they can do anything they want to because "God will forgive me"...that is not the right attitude.

God will forgive sins, the hard part is being repentant. the attitude that all it takes is to pray and say "woops, i'm sorry, i'll try not to do it again," is a dangerous one. true repentance means being sorry for what you've done because you've broken a commandment or hurt somebody else, not for your own benefit. if one is truly sorry for any sin, then that sin can be forgiven, but if you think about it, being truly sorry is difficult.

No but it might help explain the U.S. prison statistics: Atheists make up 8-16% of the U.S. population, but represent only about .2% of the U.S. prison population. Perhaps if you're forgiven and going to live forever then breaking the law is not such a bad thing? http://www.holysmoke.org/icr-pri.htm

First, God will not forgive ALL sins. Rejecting Him and Jesus his son is not forgivable. second, the major laws on man's law books are the same as those listed in the Bible. To break these laws do require punishment of one kind or another. With true and sincere asking for forgivness, God will forgive the breaking of a law whereas man does not in most cases. The problem with your question is it does not address the key forgiveness issues. This is where most seculars asking such a question loose out as they do not know or understand God's law vs. man's law and the differences of each.

here's one even better than that..I'm atheist but I was raised baptist and the way I was brought up, once you are saved you have a ticket to heaven...doesn't matter what you do after that, you can sin all you want to! Now as a christian you are supposed to try to do right and be repentant of your sins but even if you aren't you still get to ride the happy train to jesus town!

We all falter at some point. being forgiven is a constant state and some people take it for granted. God knows their hearts.
