I am a 27 year old female that already thinks I am too old to be in a dead end career so I want to go back to school I LOVE helping people and making their day go good. I thought about the medical field but cannot do the crazy hours or work on weekends.

there are so many options for medical field and there are some that off top of my head certain hospitals physical therapy for one that most places mon-fri not exact 9-5 but pretty close that for hours and its one of the fastest growing demand job markets(medical) there is so much of a shortage most hospitals are flexible when hiring. I know this mother is RN,one Sis is LVN and another is trying for her LPN it just when you limit yourself to certain hours you might have to work at more smaller hospital with hiring options and smaller per year income.

Then you'll be poor.

have you taken a apptitude test, sometimes they can help you open your eyes to a potential job that you normally wouldnt have taken a 2nd look at.

how about veterinary medicine? You could start working immediately and without any certification...from there you can work on becoming an RVT and if you're really ambitious work on getting your doctorate.

I studied Landscape Architecture in college, then worked in an office for four years. After I realized I wasn't growing in that field, I resigned and took up Nursing. Fast forward to now, I am already a Registered Nurse who graduated with honors, and in medical school so I can be a doctor. I have no regrets- my advice to you is follow your heart and work in the industry that's right for you.
