Double majoring in college, is it difficult?

I'm a junior in high school and I'm thinking about double majoring (Early Childhood Education and English) when I get to college. I'm valedictorian of my class (or will be) so I can handle the workload, but is double majoring a good idea?

  • Answer:

I would say when you apply only apply for one major and make sure that college also offers the other potential major. When you are in college, you can talk to your advisor and see how it would be to double major. From my understanding it wouldn't be too hard especially since English and Education typically fall underneath the same department they would require the same prerequisites. It won't be any different looking to add a major during freshman year since most of the classes (at least first semester) are typically generic classes. Early congratulations on being valedictorian.
