I am about to take my freshly potty trained son on his first road trip (TEN hours in a car!!!!) Should I let him wear his big boy underwear, or give in a put him in a diaper? Will that make him regress?

that is a long time but if you make stops every now and then you should be fine. you could also ask him what he wants.

I'm going through the same thing. My 3 yr old will make a game out of it if we stop to pea on a long trip. Then, he will start wanting to stop every five minutes,screaming "I'm going to pea in my underwear". Sometimes I stop on the side of the road and let him pea, it's so much quicker and people who act like that is gross must not remember trying to get a baby out of diapers. If it were me, I'd let him wear a diaper, you've got enough on your plate traveling with a toddler.

If he is old enough to understand that big boy underwear is only in case of an accident, it shouldn't set him back. Make frequent stops so he can relax, not worry about it and it keeps you relaxed as well. No need to create an unpleasant situation when he is on a roll. Let "accidents" happen when it's "no biggie", [playing in the yard] for example. Good luck.

u can do it and he can too...no diapers, not a lot of liquids, ...have to stop giving him an excuse,diapers..it made my neice regress, she took it for a while and finally fought it out with her mom..no diapers,i am a big girl and they wear panties.....:)justme

I did the same thing but not for 10 hours, good luck! I put a nappy on my daughter and it didnt set her back at all
