How do fingernails grow?

I have two long fingernails. I want to grow the rest.. but they just wont grow!! Any suggestions on how I can get the rest of my finger nails to grow?

    Nails grow at almost the same rate, though often one nail will grow faster; usually it's the index or ring finger. You can't make nails grow faster. You can increase the strength of your nails so they don't break, though, by keeping your diet rich in calcium. However, if you start now, it will take about six months before you notice a difference, because nails take a long time to grow.

there is a product out there called hard as nails and also some other over the counter items that are really good to help grow nails and yes the gelatin thing works too , but if you use a real good nail strengthener it will keep the other nails from being brittle I use hard as nails and my fingernails are very long and it takes only about 3 weeks to notice a difference,,, good luck
