OK. Looking for a corded phone with cordless handset extension, but I DO NOT want an answering machine on the corded phone! We have voicemail, answering machines just complicate that. Does anyone know know of such a creature? I can't seem to find one!!

I need one, though, that has a corded base unit, and that base unit to not have an answering machine. I want the base to be corded in case of power outages. Thanks, though, I was looking into Panasonics but all the bases appear to have answering machines.

They very well may be standard fair these days. Just turn the answering machine off and then you won't have any problems. Just because it's there, doesn't mean it needs to function.

VTech makes them. So does Uniden ( though I hate Uniden). We got our answermachineless cordless at Best Buy. Good luck :)
