while i would suggest just getting wired stuff cause it it has a faster response time(if u want to play games) and uses less batteries and saves cash...however if u still want to use it i would A. look up the product online and see if there are drivers that need to be downloaded or B. call the manufacturer as it might be faulty

So I assume this is a Vista system, my question would be this: Did this mouse come with PC? If not and you bought it, is it Vista compatible? Look on package to see, as I have run across this problem before. Otherwise check out smith instruction to match up signals on mouse to transmitter.

I had a HP a few years ago and it had a wireless mouse an keyboard too. I had a lot of problems with them as the batteries kept going flat, the signal wouldn't work and the mouse pointer would stick on screen a lot of the time. Every time you replace the batteries in the mouse, you have to set up the connection again with the infra red usb box, which was a bit of a nuisance after a while. I finally got rid of both the keyboard and mouse and used a the wired versions instead. They also eat up too many batteries so there is a lot of wastage.
