What is the best gift for my gf for her b-day?

I am giving my gf a necklace for her bday. What else could I include? Would a gift certificate to the mall or something be too impersonal? (She got me cologne and a wii game for my bday)

If you think she may like to go shopping, then rather than get her a gift certificate why not take her out to the mall shopping for the day instead and treat her =)
